Hereditary Spherocytosis Developed through the Three Generation

Abstract

|
Hereditary spherocytosis is an inherited hemolytic disorder characterized by anemia of varying severity, jaundice, spherocytosis on the peripheral blood smears, increased red cell osmotic fragility and a favorable clinical response to
splenectomy.
The
author experienced a case of family group of hereditary spherocytosis. The diagnosis was confirmed by physical findings, spherocytosis in blood films, bone marrow study and increased red cell osmotic fragility. 5 year old female patient underwent
splenectomy followed by marked improvement on clinical and laboratory findings. Grandmother, mother and younger brother of the patients had hereditary spherocytosis also. The author report a case of family group of her editary spherocytosis with
previous review of literatures.
